The Hacienda Santa Lucia, according to historical data was founded in 1630, in the old town that bears his name, Saint Lucia, whose first signs date back to 1545 when it was known as Nochistanejo.
The Hacienda Santa Lucia, was one of the largest Haciendas of Jalisco, with an area of 24,000 hectares, great was their flowering, produced corn, wheat, barley, maguey, and opal mines, iron, coal,and kaolin etc..
There was also a factory of mezcal in a lavish building "La Taberna" which can still be seen on the farm.
